Now the ad has been deleted. How funny.
I had already been turned off by this whole mess anyway...

do a google map and drive by or fly over. Some time you get a better
glimps of the seller. I wouldnt go to this place alone with deposit
money. Infact I usuly state that if I like what I see I can return
with deposit money.

Have a nice day

Stephen,

Not to take sides with God only knows who this guy is, but I can
understand his position. I've sold enough expensive toys to know how
it goes: People drop by, take it for a test drive, ask a thousand
questions, then close with, "So, I can't pay you until I sell my
(house, truck, boat, whatever). Can you hold it for me until then?"
Yeah, I'm going to hold this for an indeterminate amount of time, for
someone who may or may not come through with the money. Sorry, no. If
it's still here when you have the money, call me.

It's one thing to say, "Here's a $1000 deposit. I need 3 days to wire
funds. If I'm not back in a week, you can keep the deposit and sell to
someone else." Or, can you hold pending maintenance inspection, etc.
But dealing with people who don't have the money and don't know when
or if they can get it gets old really, really fast. Even with little
things, you know, $50 junk, I've had people call me up and ask if I
can hold it "for a couple of weeks until I get paid." No! The idea is
you obtain the money BEFORE you spend it!

I make it a point to never contact sellers until I have cash in the
bank. No need to waste their time or mine. Besides, cash talks. It
puts you in a much stronger negotiating position than virtually
everyone else. I talked the seller of my coach down way past his
comfort zone on price because I had the cash to back up my offer. He'd
received full price offers, but they wanted him to take payments, or
wait, etc, etc, the typical games. This isn't a "only for the
well-to-do" thing, either. A "cash" offer is a cash offer whether the
money comes out of your personal savings or whether the credit union
fronts the money to you via a loan. Pre-approved financing is the same
as cash as far as the seller is concerned.

(follow up - I do agree that placing such nonsense on the ad is tacky
and turns off legit customers... I, personally, would never advertise
in that manner)
