Birds @ Bonnaroo ?!?!?!?
Gregg,

My kids have been going to ROO, for years. They want me and the wife
to go with them. Thier motivation, home base," THE BIRD ". Tell me
about camping at Bonnaroo, if you would, I have several fiends that
attend or work security, you know the guy's on horseback, Most of
them told me taking the Indulgance to Bonnaroo isn't a great idea,
but they have no good explaination. VIP parking sounds like the best
option. Thanks

stuff at Burning Man all the time for costuming and such.

We use the Bluebird as the backdrop for that at various events.... we
were at Bonnaroo this June in Tennessee testing it out.

Birds @ Bonnaroo ?!?!?!?
Hi Kurt - It's a great event, very nice "vibe" compared to other big commercial music festivals we've been to in the past. But I can't comment directly on the general camping - we were in a unique position as we were there with a bunch of people from the Burning Man organization, and we created a theme camp and show there for the attendees in the artist's area between two of the big performance tents. So we were definitely VIP camping, right in the heart of the event. I hear the general camping was mud city and in worst case you had a two mile walk from your campsite to the performance areas.

Thanks!

A coach is the perfect accomodation for a festival.

We haven't been to the ROO, but have had our WL in other festival
lots. There are always a few nice late model coaches. Haven't seen any
problems, but "festival" is just another name for "party". Our son has
taken a rental RV to ROO a couple times without incident. (Doubt he
got his cleaning deposit back Smile

It also depends on the festival. A renaissance faire or folk/bluegrass
festival is one thing; Ozzfest or Lollapalooza would be another!
Bonnaroo is somewhere in the middle.

Festival goers will show respect for your coach, but not the space
around it. They will sit/sleep in the shade of your coach, and might
even lean on it. No harm intended, its a festival! We've never had
anything damged or stolen, but suppose it could happen - like anywhere
else. There WILL be folks wandering around with a serious load on!

Sometimes festival lots get crowded. This can be a problem if the
generator is needed. Often there is no way to leave with a big rig
until other folks start to clear out. Depends on how well the lot is
managed. Bottom line - RVing at a festival has little in common life
at an RV park. Still, it can be great fun if you like music and a
party atmosphere.

We have heard that Burning Man is no place to go with anything you care
about, but then Burning man is apparently the exception to just about
everything!

That's for sure - Burning Man is unlike any commercial festival and pretty much anything else on earth. We've gone five years, two with a trailer, one with another small RV, and last year with our Bird. We are fulltimers in the Bird, and it did very well with minimal additional prep and attention - though we are having overheating problems with the genny in extreme temps. But we're not overly concerned with appearances - a little playa dust on the paint doesn't bother us at all. We don't fit so well in the ritzy RV parks, LOL...

I've heard that Burning Man is a close to falling off the plant as
you can get. Sounds like a blast! If you like edgy stuff.
Bonnaroo has a VIP parking area that as I know is as classy as it
gets at Roo. The kids slept in tents the first night the car for 3
nights, it always rains at Roo, and with the fact that it is nothing
more than a pasture it is a problem for anything with some weight to
it. I'll check into coach parking and let you know what I find.
