How Tall Does Your 87 PT 38 Stand When Aired Up???
Someone owning a 1987 PT38, please air up your suspension (assuming your
coach is parked on level ground) and send me the measurements from behind the front axle, ground to steel body. And forward of the drive axle, ground to the steel body. Also measure the top of the steer/drive tire to the fender moulding. A PPV (pressure protection valve) was replaced, one located between the two manifolds behind the cross member in front of the drive axle. The bus still stands tall from the specs I got from BB over three yeasrs ago...could be I did not understand what I was told??? Someone suggested that maybe our coach is standing like it should. That may be. But what I don't understand is the coach body height was always at the specs that BB provided over three years ago, until a month ago and the body stood taller than those specs. Today the RideWell docs came out of the Blue Box. Actually I forgot I had the docs. Measuring the bag height according to the RideWell docs., the bags are doing their job except for the rear, or I could say the left rear is hanging or I could say the right rear is too tall. Only one of the two drive axle ride height valves have been replaced since I've owned the coach; the street side ride height valve was replace three years ago; tomorrw the curb side ride height valve will be replaced. Will do some serious measuring again tomorrow...or... -- Curt Sprenger 1987 PT38 8V92 "MacAttack Racing" Anaheim Hills, CA |
