I have been trying, in vain, to reach Ron and Shirley. All I get is
their voicemail. Emails have not been answered. They were supposed to
be here in Livingston, Mt this coming weekend. Anyone heard from them?

No. He's usually good about updating his position on the Datastorm and
BBirdmaps, but the last update was 8/31 when they were overnighting in Wolf
Point, MT.

Looking at some things a bit more: Ron is assigned to an internet satellite
(SatMex5) that does not work at all in Western Canada, and is poor in Northern
Montana. His note said he was headed for Lake Louise, Alberta, so he would have
been out of touch much of time. He was similarly out of reach a lot while up in
the eastern provinces earlier. I suspect that's all it is.

Ron just called. He and Shirley are in Calgary, broke down. He noticed
coolant coming out of slobber tubes. They are in the Detroit Diesel
garage and will have them assess the situation tomorrow. He said they
have had a great trip- till this happened. He will try and take his
computer to Flying J to see if he can get online. Ernie-83PT40 in
