Help! No oil pressure!

I just ran mine this morning, had 60 psi
at cold (45 degrees out) and once warmed up had 40 on road.

for the replies, folks. I pulled the coach forward about 30

feet Friday afternoon and the gauge began reading. I don't think it

was a loose wire, maybe the oil just needed to warm up? I don't ever

remember seeing 0psi on the gauge when cold, though, I'm sure it would

have alarmed me in the past and I'd have asked here if it were

supposed to be this way. Other 8V92 owners, what's your oil pressure

gauge do upon a cold start?



Other than showing 0psi for a few minutes after a cold start (repeated

after starting on Saturday & Sunday mornings, too), everything seemed

OK. Ran @ ~30psi on the freeway, high idled @ ~15psi. idle @ ~5psi.

Engine sounds beautiful... but I'm going to have to dig into this,

anyway, because it seems abnormal to me.

On my 6v, the oil pressure will be close to 60 after warmup but sometimes settles to 40. I don't know why the fluctuation- just a "bird', I guess.

pickup screen, ;pump ;oil viscosity ;oil level . funny how everyone
blames faulty electronics then searches for a gauge and sender that
will prove spec oil pressure. Its like asking everyone if your 401 is
secure then setteling on belief in the experts who's answer you most
want to hear.

the 3208's have an inherent problem with the pickup tubes cracking
then falling off. I have had that happen several times then again the
trucks had over 300,000 and used off road. average Mechanical oil
gauges are less acurate than the average electronic units. the better
mechanical gauges are up in $300. Since ohms is a measure of
resistance and resistance is not a factor of voltage, only complete
connection of the power used to test the resistance is important.
