Desperate - fuel cap - truck and bus parts - wrecking yards
I'm still desperately seeking Susan (a 3 inch fuel cap) the tow on eBay
were 2 1/4 inch. I appreciate everyone's advice and effort. The best advice I received, I feel, was to find and use a truck / bus wrecking yard. I can't imagine it being practical to try to go to all I can find so a phone list might be WONDERFUL. Can we start a phone / address book of places to check for old parts? or have I missed one that is already in existance? Regards, GPSGary Currently in Moro Bay CA wording on a coolant leak 1984FC35 |

Just thinking...
#1 Replace the tank filler tube with a tube/cap that will allow you to fill/cap the fuel tank. Use a step down or up rubber connection at the fuel tank. #2 Remove the tank filler tube, shorten it, weld in a tube/cap that will work. No new tank/tube connection needed. In the Database section in the Parts database, there is a link to a
listing of RV salvage yards: http://bart.ccis.com/home/mnemeth/rvsalvage.htm Mike Bulriss 1991 WB40 "Texas Minivan" San Antonio, TX --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "hippieforever3" wrote: > > I'm still desperately seeking Susan (a 3 inch fuel cap) the tow on eBay > were 2 1/4 inch. > > I appreciate everyone's advice and effort. > > The best advice I received, I feel, was to find and use a truck / bus > wrecking yard. > > I can't imagine it being practical to try to go to all I can find so a > phone list might be WONDERFUL. > > Can we start a phone / address book of places to check for old parts? > or have I missed one that is already in existance? > > Regards, > GPSGary > Currently in Moro Bay CA wording on a coolant leak > 1984FC35 > |

It appears that this might be a likely place to supply your fuel cap.
