repower 90 sp to 300 cummins and 3060 allison
I need a ecu/tcu calibration code off of a 37 bmc
I have found a dealer to reprogram my conversion ecu/tcu and they want 1 like i need to make this a correct shifting unit.. has anyone ever changed the transmission computer or can look at there bus computer and give the numbers that are on this computer ? I know that a 37 bmc has the same gears as my sp and i am using the same engine so this is what i need so they dont have to reinvent the wheel! i have this week to get this so i can start installing over xmas break! |

Your 3208 operates at a much higher RPM then the Cummings will, You
might have to change the gearing in the rear end. Just summing to think about. D Thompson 89 FC 35 Northern Wi |

Woody, with the Cummins , are the computers not fuel cooled?? if so
you may want to look at tank delivery & return ID diffs between the cat and cummins. and the diffs in fuel filter micron size between the two. My n14 fuel cooled computer engine wont run with the wrong filter because of the need for major flow. no
this engine has a p7100 mech pump set factory at 330hp fire truck straight old style mech engine.....maybe no good for CALI but good for me--easy to work on and easy to get more hp if i need to!~ i might put a fuel cooler in line ----because it helps~ up until 97 cummins used this engine and hooked a 6 spd tran/elec controlled behind it.....md 3060p is this 1 365 hp and 995 tq rating on the trans thanks for keeping me in line and making me think of all unforeseen problems next week!@ |

Woody,
I see in various forums you still need additional info for the allison folks to help you out. Thus far we have the VIN# on my coach, rear axel ratio (5.29), tire size (295/75/22.5), and build number on the trans in my coach. Now I have the numbers on what I am 90% sure is the black box for the trans. Black box for the Allison?? P/N 29509886 S/N J009012 Coach on the side yard until Wed - then gone 1 day for work. Dan - 94 BB BMC 37' Will post here and send email. --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "rwoodysurplus" wrote: > > I need a ecu/tcu calibration code off of a 37 bmc > > I have found a dealer to reprogram my conversion ecu/tcu and they want > 1 like i need to make this a correct shifting unit.. > > has anyone ever changed the transmission computer or can look at there > bus computer and give the numbers that are on this computer ? > > I know that a 37 bmc has the same gears as my sp and i am using the > same engine so this is what i need so they dont have to reinvent the > wheel! > > i have this week to get this so i can start installing over xmas break! > |

Woody, Most all the tech manuals a mfg publish for products have
assumptions its audiance is their factory trained techs. I find the best manuals and howto's are written by the vendors for the military re: products they sold them. Some are funny with directions like "lift the hood covering engine" on a how to to check oil, but I rather the author have no assumptions of my mechanical ability. There is a site listing many of these manuals for sale and copy. You can find stuff via the sites structure of classifications and sub catagories but that sucks and way much good info is hidden . Since you live in a state above sea level I'll give you this trick. Go to google type search terms then "site:tpub.com" no space between site : and domain. ie allison transmission site:tpub.com I hope it helps GregoryO'Connor ofTim&Greg 94ptCa |

We bring our to allison for recal if need be~~but they dont tear up enuf" so we at the shop dont know a guy to rework the calibration...they keep this close to their chest for liability reasons..... |
