Mysteries of "The Bird"
Here are a couple of mysteries that to many may be simple but to me
they are a mystery. 1. I have a single switch, like used for lighting circuits, located on the bottom of the overhead storage on the very rear of the coach (in the bed room). I have twin beds and this switch is located nearly center of the coach from side to side, putting it over the center night stand. I can find nothing that it controls. 2. I have a 110v type plug in the rear fridge access compartment. It is connected to 12/3 romex type wire that goes up, too where is the question. It appears that at some time it has been plugged into the same outlet as the fridge. It was not plugged in when I got the coach and I have not left it plugged in. I have not been able to find anything inop when unplugged or operative when plugged in. 3. I have an 110 outlet in the half closet beside the fridge that is inop, a 110v outlet in the bath that is inop, and the 110v outlet in the propane tank compartment is inop. I have checked the circuit breakers and all appear to be on and working. I have not chased any of these "mysteries" very much as they have just not made it to the top of the to-do list. Some like the outlets I would really like to make operative others are more of a curosity. THANKS in advance and THANKS to the whole group for helping me with several issues in my first 18 months of ownership not all of it has been fun but I would not want any other coach. Wendell,
3. There is a breaker in your main box that is a GFI and that needs to have the little red button pushed. That should get juice to those outlets.
2. Not sure but me thinks this is where the heat tapes that are on your pipes where once connected.
1. Another guess here. It might be your electric door lock.

Mysteries of "The Bird"
Hi,
There is a breaker in the main box that controls the bathroom outlet and also controls the propane outlet. I doubt that you have a GFI in your rig. Mine didn't come with it. Does your single switch light up? If it does, it is probably the engine oil heater. Mysteries of "The Bird"
Bob,
My 81 FC does have a GFI that controls those outlets. It has popped a number of times when driving in a hard rain. Probably shorts the outlet by the propane tank.

Mysteries of "The Bird"
if this hasn't been answered yet, the switch on the bottom of that
rear compartment most likely controls the 110v outlet for your television. In my '83 the outlet is on the passenger side up in front of the bedroom window. Not sure what the 110v romex if for at the back of the fridge, unless someone had hook up a 110v fan at one time ??
