Dupree products & trim
I recently ordered (and received) replacement ballasts for my
2 light fixtures in the dining room but they are not low profile like the original and the only way they will work is if I put them inside the overhead compartments above the dining table. When I tried to contact Dupree, I got no response. Are they still in business? Also need to find a source for the hard rubber trim that fits in the top and bottom grooves of the ss side trim. Chuck did you find the trim?
The flex-vinyl molding shrinks over time. BB did not have any nor did they know of a supplier manufacturing a replacement. I had spent some time trying to match up a cross section online with no luck. Just last week I bought some that was wider than my existing trim and clearly not as high a quality, but it looks just fine as it fits in the grooves and has a rounder profile. I'd be happy to send you a sample to try it and do have photos if you are interested. I purchased mine at Majors RV on Cape Cod MA and it was only $7 for 25FT. I did replace the whole pieces on the doors but only replace the sections that had shrunk for the sake efficiency. What I did on our '90 PT40 worked and may for you.I used RTV on one
end to glue about a foot of the trim in place. Then on a hot day I stretched the vinyl insert toward the other end back to over it's original length then used RTV to glue that end (again about the last one foot). I secured the vinyl in place with duct tape until the RTV curred. This lasted the several years I still owned the coach. Rich D. Chuck,
As far as the rubber trim, go to this Ebay seller: http://stores.ebay.com/Mobile-Home-RV-Su...arts-Store Type "trim" in the search box on the left. They have all sizes, colors, etc. and the price is right. Ernie,
The Ebay seller is Mobile Home/RV Surplus Parts Store http://stores.ebay.com/Mobile-Home-RV-Su...arts-Store The easiest way to find all of their vinyl trim is to type "trim" in the search box upper left. I used the 3/4" black on the front of mine.
