Broken Microphor toilet

Broken Microphor toilet
I need to replace my Microphor toilet. Has anyone else replaced one with a
different type? They wanted over $1400.00 from a distributor to purchase a new
one. There must be a better option somewhere.
Thanks

If I were ever to replace my toilet I would see if one of the Manuel toilets would work; the kind that was in the 1980+ models. It idiot proof and requires no maintenance. I have never been able to see the advantage of the Microphor.

Broken Microphor toilet
The advantage of the Microphor is that it does not need to be _directly_ over the black water tank. Most RV toilets drop straight down into the tank. The Microphor, using air (or electric) assisted methods uses little water (about 2 quarts per flush) and may be positioned more conveniently with respect to the location of the black tank. This compares to the most common, newer home toilets that use nearly 7 quarts per flush.
As for replacing a Microphor, I understand it is possible to get a fairly complete "rebuild" kit that might be all that's needed to solve the problems Nelson is having.
In a replacement toilet, the manual toilet would have to be directly above the black tank. If your coach does allow this kind of installation, then one of the other brands would work just fine. But if the pipe has _any_ sloping segments, then you will have to stay with a Microphor or some other brand (but probably expensive) toilet that allows offset installation.

We are considering a Thetford Aria Classic RV toilet as a future purchase. Ralph Fullenwider suggested this.

We also considered replacement. A big plumbing hassle and not very efficient
when you compare the water usage with the other options. Too bad they didn't
mount it right over the black tank. For about 325.00, including shipping, we
got a re-build kit from Microphor. Foretravel of Texas will do the rebuild, a
little over an hours work.
