PAINT COLOR CODES FOR 89pt40
Hello everyone,

I would like to do some touch-up work on my bus and can not find any
documentation on the color codes. I have an 89pt40 8v92 that is Gray, Midnight
Blue, and Baby Blue. Does anyone know where I can find the numbers for these
colors? These colors seem to be a common theme for many of these busses.

Thank you,

Gus Rodriguez

My color codes are on a data plate on the frame behind the engine, along with other data. If not there you might look up behind the overhead on the flat bottom near the windshield and see if it is next to you gross weight plate. You gotta crane your neck. The light gray or silver if that is what it is, is probably Indian Silver. I have the BASF paint code for that assuming it is the same shade.

Gus...even if you find the proper paint codes they will not match your bus..best go to a quality paint shop and ask them to electronically scan your paint and then they can match it. I went through the same exercise with my 1991 WBWL, found the paint codes, purchased the touch up paint and found that it didn't match. The paint store I went to scanned the bus for free and sold me the correct shade of paint..Jim Barone, fulltiming in a 1991 WBWL, currently in Savannah Ga.

Gus - I have an 82 PT-40 in Houston quite close to you. Just off 45S at Fuqua. I
just repainted my bird - took a baggage door (small one!)to the O'Reilly in
friendswood and had them shoot it with their color matching gun. Came out fine!
