Power Seat problems

Hi!

The power seat control for the co-pilot's seat in our '86 PT-40 has decided it doesn't want to go back. All other directions work fine, so I'm pretty sure it's not the motor. Any insights or experience before I start tearing things apart?

Hi Greg:

3 choices. 1. Bad/corroded plug in or pins on connector to seat switch. 2.
Corroded or broken wire, 3 bad motor.

Greg- if your switch is bad, go to a wrtecking yard and from an early 80's Chrysler with power seat- remove that switch and probably cost you 10 bucks. I know, I did the same and mine work. If you havea 3 lever control on the wall likeI have in my 1985 PT40, it's a Chrysler power seat controll used in Chrysler vehicles in the late 1970s thru somewhere in the 1980s. If you take it apart and clean up the contacts and it still acts up, you can go to the auto salvage yard and find another one. It's best to take from the passenger side of the car, as that side probably has had much less use.
