I believe there is at least one member here with that gas engine. If my memory
serves me correctly, I think he's from CA. If you search on gas engine or 391
you should be able to find him.

Cool but just as underpowered as the other FC's. got to be less $ to work on
than a Cat but the tranny should offer some difficulty with troubleshooting and
for the most part would prompt a total rebuild if there are issues. There is a
Transmission guy on the other forum in Wisconsin Mike Somthing?

The Bus in la has some cool history with a Christian Church that today does work
in La Ca

As Greg said, Jack Smith is the go-to guy to answer questions on this one as he
has a nice 73 FC31. As matter of fact, this is his ad from over on
VintageBirds:

BLUEBIRD WANDERLODGE: 1973 FC 31' Powered by a 391A F Industrial Gas engine, and
an ALLISON MT40 six speed transmission. The Coach is equipped with a ONAN
Emerald 5.5kw generator (with few hours) which will run the TWO roof air
conditioners, the Microwave and the electric Hot Water Heater. The radiator was
recently replaced with a 6 tube unit. This is the Side Bath model, containing
the toilet, sink and shower. The bedroom is in the rear, and has Twin beds, as
well as storage, and a nightstand. Across from the kitchen, there is a Dinette,
which makes into a bed. Up front in the living area is a couch, which also
converts to a bed. The TV is here, and the passenger seat swivels around to be
part of the living area. The TV/VCR works off cable in most campgrounds, but,
with the conversion to Digital, I suspect the crank-up antenna no longer works.
There are two recently replaced Suburban ropane heaters that keep the cold away.
The Dometic Refidgerator also works off Propane, as well as 12V & 120V, and was
also replaced. The tires and wheels were changed out about 3 years ago. The
tires are TOYO 11X22.5 on Accuride aluminum wheels, like the 18 wheelers use.
Brakes have just been redone, and all the steering tightened up. A "Steer Safe"
is also installed. More storage is provided in the outside storage bays .
Interior is OK, clean & free from rips, but is in the 70s colors. Although you
will not get any speeding tickets, the coach cruises nicely at 60mph, (3000
rpm), towing our Jeep CJ. It averages 5 to 6 mpg, and we have taken it over
Cajon Pass, The Grapevine, Soqualime in Washington & Raton in Colorado/N.Mexico.
$14,500, or might trade for equal value in a late Jaguar XJ8, Harley, or
similar... Phone 949 768 6602

He has pics on the ad over there also.

Good luck.

Hey, I love my 3208.  It has plenty of power!  I can do at least 30mph up a 10% grade Smile  I even did 9mph up a 22% grade!  And 9-10 MPG, gotta love that!
