Water Temp Gauge
The water temp gauge on by bus quit on my last outing. Is there a
way to find if the problem is the sending unit or the gauge. I have pulled the dash panel and looked at the back of the gauge and believe that is is an electric guage vs a mechanical gauge because is has three screw type terminal posts. I have also pulled the dog house and found what I think is the sending unit on the back upper right side of the radiator. This sending unit has a single large diameter (6 or 8 gauge) wire coming from it. The back of the gauge has 4 small diameter (16 or 18 or 20 gauge) wires, 2 to one post and 1 to each of the other two posts. I am not inlcuding the wire for the 53 size light bulb. The only other info that I have is that normall the indicator would be at rest at about 10 or 10:30 when the engine was off or cold. Now with it not working the indicator is pointing straight at 9:00. Is there way to find the problem? Whare does one buy a new gauge and sending unit? How does one know for sure which sendind unit is the water temp sending unit. You car reply here or to patches@.... Thanks in advance, Marc Glassmire King George, VA 1988 35FC |

Water Temp Gauge
The water temp sender is on the front of the block, you might be able
to reach it from under the coach (1-wire sender, to the driver's side of the fan drive). The sending unit on the radiator is for low-water level. To test the gauge, ground the wire coming from the gauge to the sender, it should send the gauge to full-scale. - Jeff Miller --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Marc & Tavie Glassmire" > The water temp gauge on by bus quit on my last outing.
