Jo and Paul Carver Have Trouble in Snowy Colorado!! Could use help!
Howdy.
I wrote to Jo and Paul Carver. They are in cold Colorado, Canon City and could use some help. I have posted some of their email below: Yes we are! And, we have no electric service or water and got snowed in for 2 days!!!! Something happened about 4 nights ago, our power went out in the middle of the night. Paul went outside, in 20 degree temperature, to reset the breaker. . . . no nothing happened, we were dead. Ran the generator for a few hours to defrost a bit. Tried again in the morning to reset the outside breaker, no luck. After 2 days of us tring to run all the circuits down, etc. we finally called in an RV repairman from just east of Canon City. He spend 4 hours checking things out and he was lost. Heleft and called us back yesterday to give us the name and phone number of a person to contact. Long story short, we are heading to N/E of Colorado Springs on Tuesday morning and HOPEFULLY this guy can get us back in operation. Also, our water pumps froze and cracked, so now they leak. I looked in the database but couldn't find any service place for them. If you know of any resources near Canon City, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, or Denver, please post it here. I am trying to find Jo's phone number also. TIA, Liz Regards, Jack and Liz Pearce Fulltiming in a 1993 Wanderlodge WB40 D'Hanis, TX Buena Vista, CO Currently in Spring Branch, TX |

Liz: Did they check their inside circuit breakers? One of the mains may have
tripped or gone bad. R.E. (Ron) Marabito, Dallas, TX 92WB40 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "homesicktexans_33009" > > Howdy. > I wrote to Jo and Paul Carver. . If they first prove the campgrounds electric source to be ok, then it is the
bus. Easiest way to prove the shore source is to move to a new location or use another pedistal in the park. take emery cloth to the shore plug prongs. I would then dis-connect the wires to the transfer switch and test each wire for continuity to each other and resistance alone. if the gen-set works everything correctly, then the circuits and paths after the power transfer switch are ok. it sounds like they have issue with the shore cord or the transfer switch. to test: shorepower the bus on the bus-side of the transfer switch, then the shore side of the transfer switch, results will reveal problem. remember to look for the cause once the problem is found. Jo and Paul Carver Have Trouble in Snowy Colorado!! Could use help!
UPDATE. UPDATE.
Thanks for all of the replies. I just talked to Jo and Paul Carver. They are managing on generator power. They have moved to 4 different sites in the park and everytime they plug in the power cord, they get reversed polarity. However, they do have a recommended repair source and they will go there on Tuesday. Oh and Ron Thompson, they have a 1993 Wanderlodge widebody, with an electric refrigerator. I forgot to include that info. Could be an issue with one of the shore cord ends. Try another shore cord.
