air throttle cable
Am in need of finding a source for the air throttle cable on an
87 PT. It is approx 4' long. I remember we had some discussion on this awhile back, but can't any info on it. Morse is out of business, and can't find another source. Steve- what is wrong with yours? Is it binding up or sticky? We can disassemble
and clean it at Q. You might also consider rebuilding the air throttle assembly. If you really need a cable, I would take it to a marine supply house and tell them it's for a boat. If you tell them it's in an over the road application, they won't help. There are numbers stamped into the side of the plastic insulation near one end that give the exact length in inches. You may have to rub off the crud and then wet the insulation to read it. Shane,
Thanks for the reply, but this is not for me. A friend who has an '87 needs the cable. He said it was binding in the housing and the sheathing was staring to rust(go figure! Just because he lives in New Orleans). He knows that it is 4' long and has metric threads on it. The marine places he has tried don't have it. Most of the boats have mechanical linkage with zerk fittings. He did say that if he can figure out how to convert over to mechanical linkage he would. Steve Gureasko 90WBWL401/2 Jus Chillin Ponchatoula, La. Where it finally stopped raining, and I stopped with the ark, but the animals are wet and smelly. Anyone want to buy fresh fertilizer? |

Steve- Have him contact these folks- [http://www.midwestcontrol.com/240.php]
It's a standard push-pull cable with unique ends. He'd probably be able to send them the old cable and have a new one made up. On ag equipment, this kind of stuff is pretty common -Shane --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Patticake" <sgureasko@...> wrote: > > Shane, > Thanks for the reply, but this is not for me. Steve,
This cable has been an issue with little or no inputs for an easy fix. The cable is used on the Bendix curise control / air throttle cylinder, also used on many PT's, SP's and late model FC's. There are many posts on the WOG forum, In the interest of helping your friend one on the threads is http://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.com/fo...=midw\ estcontrol also do a search for Bendix air throttle or Bendix Cruise.
