40W Oil
Leroy and I were talking about this over the weekend and we were wondering where
are people able to find straight weight 40W oil for the 2 stroke diesels? The
Mobil website does not even appear to list any straight weight diesel oils any
more. I have not checked to see if Detroit Diesel dealers still carry their DD
'Power Stroke' branded oil (which was Mobil 1240). I saw no straight weight
Rotella at my local Wally World over the weekend.

So what brands 40W are you folks seeing available right now?

Thanks,

Chevron Delo 100 and Shell Rotella are the most common. DD Dealers, Bus/Coach
service shops, and sometimes larger NAPA stores.

My local DD Dealer carries/uses Delo 100.

One of the first things I asked them when I had my first service done here 3
years ago was "What oil do you use" and they looked at me like I was an idiot
and said "Straight 40W, of course!" That's the response I expect/want to get.

I guess you could call Valley Power "local," but they have 11 locations from
Seattle to Gilbert (AZ). I've used their Sacramento and Ontario locations for
parts.
