Up north
Just in case you folks up north get to thinking that weon SPI have it too good; there is ice on the palm trees and sleet on the ground. The Queen Isabella causeway was closed last night due to black ice and will not reopen till it thaws; temp is now 32f. The expressway from Harlengen is closed in all directions, wrecks and black ice. Is supposed to be the 60's tomorrow; proof is in the seeing.

Hi Wallace, 32 degrees up here in your hometown would feel very welcome. Maybe my house shower and drain would thaw~

We had our shower drain freeze in November on a trip to Omaha.  Wound up putting a bottle of sulfuric acid drain cleaner down the drain which fixed it.   (concentrated H2SO4 makes a LOT of heat when it dilutes in water)  Hated to go the chemistry route but didn't really have other options it was about 9 degrees out at the time and lots of cold wind.  After that the shower got a drip set to keep the drain warmed up...

Thanks, Dorn, the sun is poking out and hope that will thaw it. Fortunately we have another bath in the house.

Wallace,

Speaking of proof, I assume you have enough high proof antifreeze to tide you through the forced seclusion in the condo during the ice in! Same here in SA. TXDOT closed every existing express highway in SA due to the ice. They are waiting on our unique snow/ice removal system down here - sun to melt them. I am waiting on IH-10 to open to head into the office. The access roads were backed up 15 miles toward Boerne according to the news an hour ago. We are due for 60s tomorrow also.

I'm off to check on the Bird now and eye ball the current access road backup..

Ah!! So nice to hear positive reports of warm weather! Will pack up a box of snow for you two, then add a couple quilts to bundle up in hey?!

Charolette and I were suffering from a severe case of cabin fever, so out to the drive way I went, all bundled up and clothing in layers, to do a little snow and ice removal! So here we sit at our favorite local Chinese food emporium, delving into hot soup and chips.

O! It is snowing out side as we dine, how romantic.

Romantic indeed, chow main by snowfall. The weather is clear here now and ice is melting but the wind is still 25+ but is forecast to be better tomorrow.
We to have the cabin fever, however, we are watching a ocean going tugmove a very large barge into position to take it into the jetties. The ship yard in Brownsville is salvaging WWII ships and thereare always several being cut up.We have enough fatback and greens to last a day,so we are staying in today to avoid the falling ice cycles. İmage
