Hi all: Is R-12 used on the 1992 dash air systems originally? Anyone that
knows for sure. I believe it to be true. Looking for confirmation. R.e. (Ron) Marabito, Dallas, TX 92WB40 Just got back home |

Ron
If the systems uses R134 the charging ports are a larger thread size than the R12 charging port.
Therefore if you have R12 hoses to charge the system they will not fit the charging ports.
As I recall 1994 was when the R134 was used primarily on new vehicles.

It is definitely not 134, but there was a possibility that it was an odd ball.
Something like 89A or something similar. I'm pretty sure it is R 12 R.E. Unfortunately, there were some real crazy products out there to relieve the scarcity and overwhelming price of R12 around that time.
It may be the best solution to change it to R134 unless you have some R12 around.

I had mine rebuilt as R134 and it works fine. Â Needed a new drier and expansion valve but the old compressor was compatible. Â

I agree Fred with Dorn;Converting over to R134 is no big deal
Had it done on my old coach for about $150.00 at a Auto Repair Shop --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, Dorn Hetzel > > I had mine rebuilt as R134 and it works fine.
