Bird of the Week classics
This week's Bird of the Week features a pair of great classics, including a toad that I would have never thought of using. And, it is the perfect color for a "toad" - green!

Remember, to see the Bird of the Week feature, you have to go to the home page at:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/WanderlodgeForum/

or

http://www.wanderlodgeforum.org

While you are there, if you want to see prior Bird of the Week pictures, then go to the Photos section in the menu at the left and look in the Bird of the Week Archive folder for nearly 300 prior pictures. If you have never been there, you also might want to explore the Files and Database sections for useful information.

Please share your travel pictures so other members can find neat places to visit!

Send in your Bird picture for Bird of the Week right now while you are thinking about it, along with all the descriptive information about the picture.

Thanks,

Mike: You should have run the image through Shadows & Highlights and you could
have brought out some of the foreground.

Ron,

Feel free to have at it. I don't make as many changes as I used to as some folks objected to removing toads or other miscellaneous content from their photos. So I pretty much take them as I get them now. (Besides, I have not really messed with those two PS options and don't have time to experiment with them right now. )

Bird of the Week classics
Since written words don't carry inflection and tones, with our wonderfully imprecise English language ("lives" - is it 'he lives frugally' or 'cats have nine lives'?) posts can be read many ways.

Lest anyone get the wrong impression on our recent 'shadows and highlights' posts, Ron was making a suggestion was on how to make the BOTW picture even better. Ron is the back up for BOTW and has the BIG buck Creative Suite version of Photoshop and takes classes on its use in his photography business. My response of 'go for it' was indeed just that, go ahead and make it pop. Although I have in the past enjoyed playing with my version of Photoshop 7 (see 'before' and 'after' in the BOTW Photo archive), as I said I have not really used the shadows or highlights functions and don't have time to learn to use them properly right now. I also
suspect the highlights and shadows function is much easier to use in the Creative Suite version. So if Ron modifies the pic to make it better, we'll update the BOTW with the new version.

Mike, It's obvious that some of your post is directed to me because of your
misinterpretation of my last post. Sorry you feel that way and need to explain
some theory about inflections and tones in our spoken and written words. Too
bad, I though the last few pictures that you had posted as bird of the week were
quite good and worth of my time to compliment you on doing so. I'll be very
careful in the future.

Bird of the Week classics
Hey Bob,

Wow, I am really sorry you read that into my response. Actually, my post was
based on a couple of *offline* emails that seemed to misunderstand the tone of
Ron and my posts on the subject. Based on that, (if two think it) I felt others
might also have read Ron and my exchanges similarly and I wanted to clear it up.
FWIW, I get lots of offline emails and if a common theme emerges, I try to
respond to them in a general posts, usually without mentioning the offline
emails. As a prime example, in addition to a couple of forum posts, I have
gotten *several* offline emails very recently on "How do I see this BOTW
picture you guys are talking about?" While those surprised me, it resulted in
my recent post the other day how to see BOTW and listed the web site addresses.

Anyway, I really did appreciate your kind words of support as always!

Now, ... I've been meaning to send you an email to ask: where are your BOTW pics
of your gorgeous Bird from that prime parking spot on the beach at SPI? < grin>>

Hope you and Carol are doing well back up north. Spring is headed that way.

Best regards,

Mike Bulriss - Time for the Nascar show!
