Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a fairly recent noobie with a Bird purchased
just a couple months ago. On the WOG I saw reference to this forum and thought
I'd join. These forums are a wealth of information... I look forward to lurking
about and absorbing some of it.

Donn, welcome. I amNorth of Azle in the country and have owned a Bird for over 20 years. I am probably not much help with mechanical issues but may know of someone. When you sign post be sure and include year and type of coach.
Glad to have you aboard.

Welcome Donn. Another Royale conversion joins the group! There are several
Bird owners up in your end of the state. Be sure and watch for an announcement
on the next Lone Star Birds rally and join us to meet lots of other Bird owners.

Introduction
Howdy Mike. I've cyber-met a few of the Texas folks, and dropped in for a short
visit at the Lone Star Birds rally in Marble Falls as they were pulling up
stakes. Met a couple of folks there. If all goes well and I can get the critical
projects completed by then, it would be nice to have this Bird's first rally
with me in June at the LSB Thackerville, OK. rally.

When I purchased this bus I knew it was a Royale conversion, but had not a clue
what that meant. Since then I've learned that it means confusion. There were,
according to one Royale owner, only a dozen sent to Royale for conversion, and
according to another, "no more than 10." What I've learned is that no two are
alike, and they aren't even real similar to the BB produced 40-WB. This is a
"Royale" pain in the butt.

After perusing the files section of this group and finding nothing helpful, I'd
like to ask the residents here if anyone knows anything about actual production
numbers. How many total Birds were produced each year, and how many of any given
model? Also, which years were spanned by any given chassis or body style? From
looking at the photos section of the group, it appears that the 40-WB's of 1988
and '89 are real similar in appearance to my '90... but '91 changes a bit. Just
curious.
