1976 diesel F-29296
Help! I can't figure out what I'm looking over:
1976 Blue Bird motorhome body # F-29296(can't find the word Wanderlodge) It's a diesel, factory service number 125680. Chassis serial # 9455 Engine # 20147287 It has a diesel Onan 12,ODJC-3CR/2701AA generator and three rooftop ACs. Could those be original? Is this a "Wanderlodge"? The ususal fold-down dining table area has a counter with drawers. Could that have been an original option? Would that be a CAT diesel propulsion engine? What are the odds of getting engines working again without rebuild after 2+ years of non-start? I can't find VIN locators and don't find any diesels before 1977 on the vintage Wanderlodge site. Any help would be appreciated including where to look or whom to call. Thanks! |

Look above the window for the VIN plate. You'll have to contort your body to get the number

Or, why not put a photo in the "Photos" section so everyone can see? ;^)

Just FYI on the color of Detroits in Birds, the 6V92 may be red (1982) or silver
(1983 on), and all the 8V92s should be silver. wbostow -
Since you have been to http://www.vintagebirds.com site, you know that the 1976 Wanderlodge should have had a Ford industrial gas engine. I would try to call Parliament to see if they can check the body number to verify if it was an original Wanderlodge or someone's conversion. Post some pictures so we can get a look before trying to comment on the other questions. Dart,
Could you create a Photo albumn on the forum site and post some pictures of that dining area in your Royale Bird? That is something of interest to do to our 91 and it would be great to see how yours was done. Michael Brundridge just did something similar in his 94 also, but it would be nice to see others. Thanks a bunch, Mike Bulriss 1991 WB40 "Texas Minivan" San Antonio, TX --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "DART" > > Are you sure it's a '76?
