Are theÃÂ jacks the kick-down style? If they are, is it the kick-down cylinder (the smaller one) or the liftÃÂ cylinder that is leaking.ÃÂ Curt Sprenger 1987 PT38 8V92 "MacAttack Racing" Anaheim Hills, CA "curtsprenger@gmail.com" One of the "Birds of a Feather" (BoF) Organizers On Tue, Dec 20, 2011 at 11:33 AM, Jamie <"jamiejbrandt@yahoo.com"> wrote:

The 90 is fixed, not kick-down.

FRONT LEVELER LEAKING
I'm experiencing the same with my HWH levelers as Jamie. We have the same
model and year. Coincidentally, earlier today I stopped in at United RV in Fort Worth to check on repair costs. I believe they are the only authorized HWH service center in this part of Texas. Labor cost per jack was estimated at $500, with any unusual circumstance and parts extra. They also cautioned that the pistons of a 21-year-old coach could easily be scored or pitted to the point that a new jack would be required. I'm not sure what average labor rates are but United gets $120, and for that kind I think I'll pull mine off to save the R&R labor and just have them do the rebuild. Either that or just plan a trip to Moscow, IA next summer. Donn Barnes 90 WB-40 ³Howland² Alvarado (Fort Worth), Texas 214/793-2043 donn@... What does HWH charge for a new jack? Help make the choice easier.

Something I should have mentioned before. HWH has a series of online
tutorials on understanding and servicing their equipment. This could be very helpful if Jamie decides to do his own work. http://www.hwhcorp.com/onlineschoolsect13pt1.html Donn Barnes 90 WB-40 ³Howland² Alvarado (Fort Worth), Texas 214/793-2043 donn@... |

Gary, I've not been able to find that on their website. United RV told me
there are refurbished jacks available too, but I didn't get a price on that either. Might be worth a phone call if someone is patient enough to wait for the return call. I understand they understaffed and are backed up, and that it sometimes takes days to get a return call. Donn On 12/20/11 6:56 PM, "Gary Smith" > What does HWH charge for a new jack? FRONT LEVELER LEAKING
For what it is worth, I had one jack start leaking while we were in Nebraska two years ago. A local outfit that repairs tractor hydraulics rebuilt the jack for me. Parts were $19 and labor was $55. No problems since.
