RE: series 60 mileage and speed
I have lived and drive in the northwest, mostly. Hauling 50,000 lbs. plus up over tall mountains can use a bit more fuel.
I have a brother that travels with a diesel pickup and a fifth wheel and he is meticulous about logging fuel and mileage. He claims the brand of diesel fuel can effect mileage 10% on a regular basis. He is very selective about the brand of fuel he uses. There is one brand of diesel that he will not buy given any choice. RE: series 60 mileage and speed
I have learned the secret to great mileage on my 2000 LXi is to reset the ProDriver just before heading down a very long grade. Then I get in the 9s steadily decreasing down to the 6.5 I get everywhere else ;-)
I wonder how coach total odo mileage factors in. Mine has 46K and may not be broken in yet. |

RE: series 60 mileage and speed
Whenever it needs fuel, I fill it up. Besides the novelty of knowing, I don't typically have the luxury of biding my time to gain fuel mileage. Currently the $100 difference is easily made up in the extra time spent in the office. Maybe someday!
