New back up monitor system
I just installed a new monitor system in my 'bird and wanted to pass
along some info if anyone is interested. I did a bit of homework on the internet and found a 6" color LCD (active matrix) at X-10 for $133.00. For a camera I found the website http://www.rvcams.com and found a color camera w/reversed image for $165.00. The camera has the IR for low light situations which I have found works very well. I was extremely pleased with the purchasing process with both locations and in each case had the product 3 days later. In the case of the camera I got an e-mail from Tim Lazaroe who owns rvcams.com confirming the order followed by a sales receipt/thank you note. It turns out that Tim is an RV'er who is a regular on rv.net/forum. Tim includes with the camera a package he put together which includes a 65' cable, a 12v power cord and an adapter cable which breaks out the power/speaker/video. I am not affiliated in any way with nor have I previously met or heard of Tim. I think that for a total of $298.00 I have put together a pretty nice color monitor system with audio. New back up monitor system
Hi John. I bought a complete system from Tim for about the same money and
am very pleased with it. Great colour and works well at night too. Rob 94 WLWB Original Message: ----------------- From: John Stiles csjbs@... New back up monitor system
Good to hear from you Ralph. The monitor is a Boss Audio 6" visor
mount monitor P/N EBO-BOSBV6VIS. Be aware that as I found out upon receipt that it, being a visor mount model, doesn't have a mounting method built in so I had to be a bit creative and make my own mounting bracket. If I had it to do again I might not would go with a visor mount version but rather one that has a standard threaded base on the back. I had found several that didn't cost much more. This monitor that I got however does have great color and comes with a hand held remote which is very handy. I can't wait for you to see its installation in the overhead that I did along with a new stereo system.... Take care and tell Charolette hi, John --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Ralph L.
