Generator Muffler

At the risk of appearing really dumb, let me explain my situation.
I live in the FL Keys but keep the BB at a lot near Orlando. So,
its not right out front where I can go measure every time I want to
buy something.

The link you provided was to the Walker site (I had already found it
and looked there, but could not find a part number 22255 as provided
by Bennie and then again by Earl at BB) but to a Custom Order page.
I looked around at the styles, and thought it may have been one of
the end inlet, side exit mufflers, but couldn't find 22255. Also
contacted 2 different NAPA stores who were also unable to get a
cross reference. No luck.

That's when I posted the second time.

Now to the style 9 page. The muffler I believe you saw was one
numbered 22555 which is a end inlet, side exit, but has a 4" inlet
ID. Unless my eyes were deceiving me while I was under the coash
about 10 days ago, the muffler in question has an inlet more in the
1.5" to 2" range.

I have done a fair bit of looking on the Walker site and on others.
And, because I've made my living in the software industry for the
last 30 years, I am reasonably familiar with the Internet.

I was hoping to buy a part by a part number to assure that it was
the correct item and not have to resort to searching.
(Unfortunately, I'm not retired so my time on the Internet hunting
for fun things has to be interrupted for work.)

I'm still at a loss. Is it 22255 or 22555 and is the generator
exhaust pipe really 4"???

Hey,

Let's everybody take a deep breath. I may be new to Bluebirds, but
my shoulders are OK. I won't run just because someone's bedside
manner isn't as warm and fuzzy as Marcus Welby. I've been accused
of being a bit straightforward too.

I'd really like to go back up to Orlando next weekend with parts in
hand to change the upper Alternator belts, fix the muffler (Sure
would like to find some place with a pit), and find and correct the
break in my Turbo Boost guage line. I have found the belts, but
need to order the muffler pretty fast if I'm to have it by next
weekend.

The exhaust should be a 2 inch id and if not a 2 inch od, then be sure to
go to the 2 inch od and the new exhaust tip from the muffler to the out
side of the Coach, needs to extend beyond the Coach at least 2 inches, 3
inches would be better.

asked
The Gentleman was asking for a particular part number not a link to
website with custom parts
While it is true that not all owners are as enlightened as you are in
your verbose answers and do not keep the meticulous and copius records
that you do, there is no need to terrorize the person
That Gentleman was looking for a particular part number that should be
available and not a custom built part
If you find the need to chastise someone pick on me or someone else on

Your knowledge is superb, your attitude is rated a D- on several
forums in my personal opinion.

You post on many forums with a hard core attitude - relax a bit. I
messed with you on diesel forums black/grey water because of this -
even though I value your factual opinions greatly.

You were removed by mods once before in wanderlodge forums - keep a
even keel my friend. I value your facts, but reject the attitudes
and argumentive attitudes..... We need your knowledge on this forum
so plaese stay polite.

My mechanic has found that the generator muffler needs to be replaced.
He indicated that it is a muffler that he is not familiar with and was
wondering if there is a special muffler needed to replace the existing
muffler. I asked if we could just use a standard muffler that would fit
the space and he indicated that I would want to get a quieter muffler
with a little more packing than just a standard one.



Any thoughts on what to replace it with? Is there a source for
replacing with the existing model?

Brian, The more you muffel the more you create backpressure load and
heat. I bet they used the quietest setup for the time. My 94pt has
a kubota diesel on the gen set. I installed a aftermarket
scrubbermuffler (required to do demolition within a building for
sound and exhaust gas) on a kubota diesel in a tractor and burnt the
wireloom and melted my airfilter.
