My brother-in-law had one in the early 80's. He also had Rokon's attempt at a motocross bike.

An interesting factoid is that the front wheel is geared to spin slightly faster than the rear. This helps in turn stability. When a motorcycle turns the front tire contact patch shifts to the outside sweeping a larger turn radius. This requires an acceleration of the front wheel and higher wheel velocity! Who wudda thought! (Bike riders know to roll on the throttle in a turn). My guess, they tried it, it handled like crap and slowed down in the turns, so they came up with this compromise.
