what is this?

was planning on heading out today but now for some reason water pump
isn't working. drat...thought we were set to go. Hope I didn't burn it
up, had let the water get down so I could add fresh (don't think it was
left on but it could have been)
anyway no pumping water, tho of course when I am connected to water it
flows, just not certain we will have a water connection where we are
going.
I am hearing a hiss and when I uncovered the water tank & heater found
a round item next to the wall (about 3" long and 2 " diameter, which is
black, red & silver) the hiss seems to be coming from it. When I put my
finger underneath it I can feel the air, there is an opening about the
size of the end of finger.....
I took a digital pic but haven't managed to get it uploaded to this
site.....
help?

The item you are seeing is the electric valve the directs chassis air into
the freshwater line to blow out the water for winterization. next to the
bed is a drop down door and inside is a switch to turn that valve on and
off. Turn it to off. Also there should be instructions on the drop down
door to tell you that during normal operation the two knobs should be in a
certain posititon. Close the top one and open the bottom one. Then go in
the bathroom and under the sink there is another drop down door. There is a
ball valve with a handle on it. Pull it out so it is perpendicular to the
pipes. Then go outside at the drivers rear of the coach and there is
another door that opens to reveal the fresh water input, electrical
connections etc. There is a switch there, turn it to off. This closes the
sporlan valve that is on the floor near the valve you show as "what is
this". Now you should be able to pump water.

the outside fill switch is off, had it on when I put water in,
haven't changed anything else, where is the water pump, it may have
been on when the coach was low on water. Thought it was off but...

If yours is a sidebath then the water pump is under the kitchen sink.
Remove the drawer and shelves and you should find a removable panel in the
back, remove it. The pump is in the rear by the wall. If you have the
original design pump (quite expensive and one of the best pumps on the
market) you can run it dry with no ill effects. You didnt say that you had
the other valves in the correct position?

Does the pump even run? You should hear it under the sink. If it is not
running its possible you blew the fuse.

Yes, all the valves are in the correct position, the pump makes no
sound, where would its fuse be?
The coach is a side bath
