Low air buzzer stays on
Rick,
On my 81 there is a switch at the auxilliary tank with one wire that got corroded after years of use and when replaced fixed the problem. It was located right at the outlet for the tank and was an easy repair about $10.00 for the switch. Be sure the air is out of the tank before trying to replace. Thaks for keeeping us up-dated on Stephen and Patty. Low air buzzer stays on
Hi Rick,
Our prior 86PT40 was wired so that the low air light and buzzer also "lit and buzzed" when a jack was not fully retracted (or when a jack switch was defective). Don't want to send you down the wrong trail but it might not be too hard to start the engine, examine the dash air gauge, drop a jack or two, and see if any additional buzzers and/or lights become lit. Also, if I recall correctly, the annoying buzzer control breaker was located in the #1 position (top left) of the inside front panel just ahead of the passenger seat where it can be pulled temporarily so as not to drive you nuts while you drive; the buzzer will stop and the dash light will remain on. Low air buzzer stays on
Rick:
There are a couple of switches that mount on the front axle and the tag axle that activate the light and buzzer. I had the same problem the other day, but it straightened itself out. Call Ralph and he can tell you exactly what to look for. You might just have some dust in this switch. R.E.
