New to the Group

I'm new to the forum and will for some time just Lurk N Learn.

A little background. I have been out of Rving for many years,
having just spent the last seven restoring a vintage Fiberglass
Mainship Trawler. Diesel engines, generators, inverters, chargers,
refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, heating, wiring, and
endless cosmetic tasks are the things with which I am comfortable.
Now I'm ready to get off the water and back on the road.

During the last 20 years or so, no matter where I was traveling,
countless motor homes could go by and I would never even give them a
glance, but have a Blue Bird show up in the mirror and go on by,
well, it just makes you smile. It always has. Just something about
them.

So for a while, I'll search your messages and try to learn as much
as I can, and chime in with a question now and again. I really
would like to know the main differences between the FC, PT, and
BMC. At this point, my best guess is the FC is a puller, and the
others a pusher, which is my preference.

Welcome to the WanderlodgeForum!

Since you have already indicated your masochistic tendencies by owning
boats and are versed in their operating systems, you are definitely
ready for a vintage Bird! 8^)

You are correct that the FC are pullers and the PT are pushers. The
best place to get a good overview of the models is in the history
section at http://www.vintagebirds.com which is run by one of the other
moderators of this group.

Given your history, we look forward to your active participation on
systems questions. Where are you located?

Say, where are ya located? If you're anywhere within traveling distance of
Hoodsport, WA (right on the Hood Canal), next weekend, you can have the chance

Thank you all for the welcome. We are in St. Petersburg, Fl. A few
weeks ago, we looked at motor homes, diesel pushers, some of which were
American Eagles, Monaco Diplomats etc, all three to five years old.
Then a weird thing happened. I was at work on Tuesday and returning
from lunch. A beautiful Blue Bird was siting in the parking lot. Very
unusual considering the surrounding industrial district. I wandered
about looking for the owner, which I later met. I could not believe it
was an 83. We spoke for a few moments and I started thinking why was I
so excited about this, I guess it was the Blue Bird thing again.

consider the one that I have for sale in Tampa. It is a 87PT 40 for $75,000.

Hi all from central Ohio. New to the BB Wanderlodge group. I purchaced
my first BB this past summer after a buyback of a new coach by the
manufacturer of a different kind (a very big mistake). My BB is a 1985
FC 35' and so far I just love it. I have always wanted one because----
well they are so dag gone ugly they are cute. I have taken the bird on
several different short trips and yes there are some issues and I know
I will have a million questions and I hope that no one gets to upset
for me asking. I am in south central Ohio and having a devil of a time
finding a good mechanic to take care of my bird. Right now I need a
power steering pump bracket for it, we were down in southern Ohio when
it broke, I removed it my self and had it welded but it does not look
good and I would like to get a new one real soon but no one in my area
can locate one. There is a few cosmetic items that are missing or I
would just like to change out. Well I hope I like the group and who
knows some day we may be able to meet and have coffe or tea with the
other halves and just enjoy.
