Teleflex Tachometer
Hello,

I am looking for a replacement for my tach it sticks. When it sticks I
can tap on the face rim and it will break loose and work. I talked to
Bennie and Earl at BB and described how it was doing and they felt it
was in the Tach. The cost from BB is $312.00. Has anyone else had to
replace their Tach, from what source and price.
Thanks,
Howard Truitt

Howard:

I have a box full of original dash instruments and I believe I have a tach.
Let me check, I also need to hook it up to be sure it is working. Will do
that this next week when I get caught up in the shop with the Bird I have
in now.

behing the tach and cleaned the contacts and retightened..and working
good now ..not sure if this had anything to do with it or not..I was
thinking I was cleaning the ground. Not sure ..Ralph??

Hi Scott:

Glad to see you, hope the new genny is working out ok?

Your right, the grounds under the lower and upper dash area were way under
wired. And checking the ground on the instrument studs on the back does
help. Also everyone one of the gauges go through a black amphenol plug
and it being plastic and having amperage pass though it will tend to cause
a build up of electrolysis that will make things flaky as well.

Safe travels,

Here is a link to a place that can repair guages
http://www.gaugeguys.com/contacts.htm

I stopped in and had my tach tested, no problems found. Guy was very
nice. It is a small shop run out of the garage.

Another place : http://www.dashusa.com/index.htm

This site has a nice selection of guages : http://www.egauges.com//
