"Dealer" Question

"Dealer" Question
May I impose a question upon the "Bird" owners in Texas - or elsewhere. I browse
the different RV dealers on the web and have come across an outlet in Princton,
TX - Mr. Olivers RV & Equipment Sales.

He often lists Wanderlodge 40'-42' models anywhere from '91 to '95's. Does he
take these coaches in on consignment? I see nothing to "trade-up" to as you
would at an authorized dealership for Wanderlodge, Newell, Prevost etc.

Their website is http://www.mrolivers.com if you'd like to evaluate his inventory and
asking prices. I am not up-to-speed on the used market for these coaches . I am
just wonering if the owners/sellers of these coaches are giving up the RV
lifestyle and just trying to get their money out of them - for whatever shape
they're in.

Any and all comments would be most appreciated. Thanks again.

Joe (Pappy) Hagan/St. George, UT.

"Dealer" Question
There are a lot of folks on this forum that have purchased from Mr Olivers.
Perhaps they will respond to your questions. I know there is a nice looking 95
there, cheap. If I was in the market~ Ernie-83pt40 in texas

"Dealer" Question
Joe:

Having been to Mr Olivers on several occasions to do inspections, I have
learned that while he does take consignments, most of his Birds come from
buying trade ins from a dealer in Tennessee, who have bought a new or used
Prevost. Most of the SOB's at his place are consignment.

"Dealer" Question
Joe,

We just bought our Bird (ToWanda) from Mr Olivers back in August after a two
year search. The coach was in Mr Oliver's name when we purchased it. She is a
one-owner and the original owners had traded her in on a new bird. Mr Oliver's
has a relationship with the dealer to purchase his trade-ins. ToWanda hit Mr
Oliver's lot on a Monday and we had a "done deal" by Friday morning thanks to
Ralph's quick response to get down and inspect her for us. She's a sweet coach
that has been well maintained by her original owners. We consider ourselves
lucky to have been able to move quickly enough to get her before someone else
could beat us to the punch.

Hope that answers your questions.

"Dealer" Question
Ken & Patti:

Thank you for your insight in response to my question. I see Mr. O has three
BB coaches on his lot; two '95's and a '91. I assume he deals with Buddy Gregg
in Knoxville (one of the BB photos shows B.G's nameplate). It is difficult to
judge any product by a series of photos - although Mr. O covers the coach with
many photos - even shows the rust spots in and around compartment doors. I hope
you got a good deal on your purchase.
Regards,

"Dealer" Question
Joe:

We purchased our 83 PT35 from Mr. Oliver 2 years ago. The unit was very fairly
priced and Paul Davis helped us every way he could. If /when we move up, we
would buy from him without concerns.

But as Ken mentioned, know what you want and be prepared to move quickly.

"Dealer" Question
Joe,

We are VERY happy with ToWanda. She was well cared for and is in very good
shape, especially when you consider she is 16 years old. We feel that she was
fairly priced. Where we really lucked out was that Ralph only lives 3 hours
from Mr Olivers and was able to go down right away to do the Pre-purchase
inspection for us.

Ralph knows Birds and provided us with a 20 page "line item by line item"
report on all her systems. He took her out for a thorough test drive and even
slept in her over night. Without his evaluation we don't know if we could have
moved quickly enough to get her before one of the other prospective "local"
buyers that were also looking at her.

We would deal with Mr Olivers again, but we'd still use Ralph to tell us what
we've got before we would make an offer.
