New Building
I will reply because I had a parking pad built 12 feet by 40 feet to park
the bus on, but I know nothing. The pad was built 2.5 years ago and have no cracks yet. First put down six inches of pea gravel, then use rebar wired together instead of, and into the shape of, the typical wire mesh commonly used for keeping the concrete together after it cracks. Then request a "five bag mix", I think this makes it harder or stronger, and poor the slab six inches thick. dandarst86fc35rbhuntleyil. >From: "ronmarabito2002" >Reply-To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com >To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com >Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Re: New Building >Date: Fri, 18 Nov 2005 23:36:23 -0000 > >In order to recommend the slab thickness, type concrete and >reinforcing, it is necessary to know the soil characteristics in the >area. We are located in Western WA. I compacted the site with the BB we had at the time a '81 31' FC, about 28000#. We now have a '87 PT38, much more weight. Good luck, you'll enjoy the "Birdhouse". I had one builder say to compact the dirt well and pour 4" of 2000# concrete with fiber the other says I need to pour 6" of 3000# concrete with wire. I also plan on putting in a 42" wide by 42" deep by 12' long service pit. I would appreciate your imput.
