thanks & new ? about chasis heat

Hello, Thanks for the replies about the problem we were having
with "no hot water" It was the switch that is on the side of the bed
that had gotten flipped to drain by some curious children Now that
that is all working, we are trying to figure out the cold chasis heat
in the front of the coach. The rear works great - plenty hot, but the
front (dash and under the sofa) blow out nothing but cold air. Any
ideas/suggestions? Looks like there are 3 valves in the rear and they
are all turned the right way. Anything we are missing? Thanks so
much!

You might check and see if there is a water valve up close to the heater that
might be closed. Some of the older FCs also had a valve next to the heater. Let
the coach warm up and feel the line going into the heater. If it not warm, start
moving aft until you find a reason why the hot water is not circulating (closed
valve, kinked hose, capped off line, etc.

I have an '88 WB with the same condition. I have not replaced it
yet, but there is mechanism near the front curbside under the bus
that the book refers to as a pump, but I believe it is actually a
solenoid valve. My mechanic says mine is corroded up and won't open
anymore. I think the summer/winter switch on the overhead dash
controls this. If you crawl around under the bus and find the
heater hose loop under the copilot area you should find the valve in
a metal housing with some wires attached. It could just be a broken
wire too.

Mark I believe the valve you are describing is not a valve but the
hot water heater for your engine block.

I don't think the engine block heater for a PT is at the front of
the bus. I guess I could be wrong but it is on the heater loop that
goes to the front heat exchanger for the defroster.
