6V Batteries?

6V Batteries?
What is the reason my bird has four 6-volt batteries rather than two 12-
volt ones? Two 12v's would be lighter and take up less space. Can
anyone enlighten me on this?

Also, what's the best replacement battery anyone has had experience
with?

Thanks

6V Batteries?
The reason for the four 6V batteries is amp-hours. More useable amp-
hours in those four deep-cycle 6V batteries than in two 12v batteries.

Many opinions on battery quality, and whether the better/best are
worth the extra money. Leave any of them dead for long enough and
you'll be scrapping them, so IMO unless you use the coach full-time
and will be needing lots of boondocking capability, go with middle-of-
the-road quality flooded-cell GC-6 batteries.

The bigger part of the formula in my experience has been the charger.
A good 3-stage charger such as you'll find in a good inverter/charger
or the Tru-Charge will give you more useable amp-hours and more
battery life by far than the original battery-boilers or any cheaper
charger/converter.

6V Batteries?
---#1. Extra current capacity from four 6 volts over two 12
volts...#2. TROJAN T 105'S.
