Hello Everyone,
I would like to replace the felt strips that are on the inside of the sliding windows, but I am not sure how the windows come out of the frames. Any help will be appreciated. If anyone knows where to buy the (felt?)please let me know. Thanks, Larry Holland 82FC35 3208T Canandaigua, N.Y. |

Hi Larry, I would tell you just how to do it, but I havent the
faintest clue!! Most of the windows on our 1973FC do not move, except for the drivers unit. Perhaps the clue here is to slide them every once in a while. I have tried WD40 on one with no success, and graphite on another with no change except Wife yelling that I got my shirt dirty. I also await the solutition from the real pros. I've bought it from BB, a while ago though.
The sliding window can be removed by pulling the black strip out of the end-aluminum extrusion, removing the two screws (top and bottom), remove the end aluminum extrusion, slide the glass out of the frame, bend/spring the empty frame enough to remove from the window, replace felt, reverse removal procedure. PITA at best. The last time I did window work I removed the entire window assembly from the coach first which IMO is easier: Remove window retainer strip (salon and driver's windows) or pry open the rubber strip at the seam (rear of the salon), remove inside trim, push window out at the bottom frame into a waiting helper's hands, disconnect alarm sensor wires, lower window away, disassemble. With trying to serviced the window in the coach you risk having to remove it anyway as re-installing the glass into the frame and hardened plastic gasket/seal is not easy. - Jeff Miller --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Larry holland" > Hello Everyone, > > I would like to replace the felt strips that are on the inside of the > sliding windows, but I am not sure how the windows come out of the > frames. I have seen a lot of mid 90's rigs for sale that the owner says that
the coach has Hehr windows. Were these better than the BB window? Were they more efficeint in the sun? Someday when I upgrade out of my 95 BMC I will need to know. thanks marty |

Hehr was the supplier when Bluebird got out of the window making
business there are a variety of suppliers for aftermarket windows the 2 highest quality in my opinion are Stormtite (Triple E and other coaches ) and Beclewat (Marine and RV) Hehr is known for producing windows for over the road coachs and there also Peninsula no doubt there are others Stephen 77fc35 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "martingregg598" > > I have seen a lot of mid 90's rigs for sale that the owner says that > the coach has Hehr windows. Having owned units with both kinds of windows, I wouldn't brag on Hehr windows,
NOT an upgrade. Marty,
Hehr is just another manufacturer of RV windows located in SOCAL. They make a good window. I have also used Peninsula Windows. My '95 has Hehr though they are only single pane.
