Air suspension saga continues....
OK, need some help here.

I have a problem with a leaning coach. Last week I posted that I
believed I had identified the problem as a torn air bag. However,
upon further inspection, here is what I have determined.

1) The air bag I though was blown actually isn't. It is in bad shape
and I am going to replace it, but the inner bladder is still intact
and it holds air. I can find no evidence of this bag leaking or
seeping air...soaped it up real good, no bubbles.

2) All three leveling valves seem to be OK. They are all three
fairly new...I did both rears last year and the front appears new, so
I am guessing it was done shortly before I got the coach. I know the
rears are fine as far as the side-to-side leveling...with the front
valve disconnected, the rear axle will air up properly level.

3) So my problem is that the right front fills more than the left
front, causing the front of the coach to lean. But since both sides
of the front are controlled by one valve, I find myself at a
troubleshooting dead end here.

Help?

Scott,

To get the front level, since it has only one valve for both sides,
you need to adjust the rear valves. Raising and lowering one side
of the rear or the other will shift the front side to side. BB says
to measure front height at the point behind the front wheel. It
should be around 16 or 17 inches. You might check with BB on your
year and model.

If that does not do it, then I am not sure what else to look at.

Well, since the rear inflates level, I do not think it is the rear
valves. If a rear valve was out of whack, the rear would lean just
as the front does...at least as I understand it. When I replaced the
rear valves last year, both axles were leaning.

First of all you didnt say which side in the front is low? You need
to adjust the rear height adjusters to get the right and left front
at the same height and then adjust the front height adjuster to get
the front at the correct height. I think you will find that one of
the rear height adjusters is misadjusted. Remember that if the right
front is low, then you lower the right rear adjuster etc.

Could it be that the front leveling valve has some crud in it limiting
the right side air volume/pressure. Take the valve out and check it.
Checking line pressure at the bag ends is a good thought...might tell
you the front leveling valve is bad or the crud as I mentioned. Good
luck. Keep us posted.

Scott, from what I understand, given the ground is level, a lean in
the front will create a reverse-lean in the rear on the opposite
corner. ie if the driverside front leans down the passanger side
rear should pull up.

OOOPs major brain spasm. If the right front is low then you lower
the LEFT rear adjuster.
