It's about time to replace my gen battery, is there a "special" one
that is best for this, or is any good auto battery a good choice? Thanks Scott Forman 82FC35RB Memphis |

Hello, Scott. Be sure to check out Optima brand batterys. The Red
Tops are the higher cranking starter type. If your gen battery is isolated from the rest of the DC system and only gets charged from the genny alt, these give extra piece of mind. I think they are the best starting batterys ever. Just my opinion. -James 78FC33SB LasVegas NV --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Scott Forman" <sforman@...> wrote: > > It's about time to replace my gen battery, is there a "special" one > that is best for this, or is any good auto battery a good choice? > > Thanks > Scott Forman > 82FC35RB > Memphis > |

I replaced mine with a standard Group 24 car starting battery (Wal-
mart, mid quality unit). Size was choosen due to mounting area limitations(i have a replacement Onan gen set, not OEM, if a larger G- 27 size would have fit, I would have used it). My thought on type selection was that my actual use was in fact "starting"...high amp load, short duration. I do not think you want a deep cycle or dual purpose for that reason. For best life/use, you want to match design and capability of battery to your specific use. frank w 85FC33 Woodbridge, VA. --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Scott Forman" <sforman@...> wrote: > > It's about time to replace my gen battery, is there a "special" one > that is best for this, or is any good auto battery a good choice? > > Thanks > Scott Forman > 82FC35RB > Memphis > |
