Looking to talk & meet with BB Owners in So FL
We are new to this forum. We have never been RV'ing, however, we
owned 26'-34' sailboats for 20 years which Pat always felt was "glorified camping". In our brief research of RV's we feel that a BB might be a good choice for us. We feel that a 33'-35' FC or a 36' PT or SP would be ideal for us as it would be just 2 of us, retired, young 62 year olds. If we cannot find one of those, we will consider other models up to 40'. Budget will dictate an older BB yet we like the idea of better quality than we have seen in other brands. We have not been able to find any BB in our area. If you own an older BB in the South FL area and would be willing to talk with us and/or show us your RV or point us in the direction of one you know of we would like to hear from you. If you prefer not answering via the forum, you can email us direct at sailingmyway@... John & Pat Huntley in Stuart, FL (Between Palm Beach & Port St. Lucie) |

Looking to talk & meet with BB Owners in So FL
John, SOOO you want to get into the RV lifestyle. Great choice. Our
friends have a Grand Banks they travel in and they love our coach. (86FC35RB) Years ago I sailed a 42' Morgan from Lake Mich around to Annapolis. Great trip, lots of fun. If you know that boat then you have an idea of a BlueBird. Quality through and through. It is just the two of us as well, Judi and I and we find "RUBY" to be adequate for our trips. We do not fulltime if we did I think we probably would like a larger coach for lots of reasons, but in our case that is not an issue NOW..maybe in the future. I would offer you and anyone looking for a BB that I would strongly suggest that you purchase either from an individual, or a reputable dealer. It seems that recently some have purchased from a dealer without a clue and are now suffering. Ralph F will due a pre purchase inspection for you and he is very knowledgable about the BB coaches. Stuart is a great area, have fished there. At present our coach is for sale. She has lots of upgrades, new michelins 10/05 and new PowerTech genset...less than 100 hrs. The list goes on and is long. We feel that someone wants a great looking coach (pics in pic section), with the upgrades done properly not jury rigged. We would be happy to show you the coach. Good luck in your search. John and Pat,
I also am a longtime sailor and boater who recently jumped into a Bluebird with no previous RV experience. I must say, my many years of dealing with boat systems has helped a bit, but there are a lot of additional systems to learn. I bought a 1990 SP 36 that was a bit of a fixer upper. I have spent most of my spare time the last 2 months getting to know her and repairing everything that needs it. My overall impression of the coach is very positive. Everything is very heavy duty and built to last. That being said, the systems to me are overly complex, lots of complicated gadgets to do very simple tasks, ie, the air step system, air dump valves etc. My experience with boats was to keep them simple, anything that can break will break, and at the worst possible time. I have tried to simplify systems on my Bird as I work on them, but there are still miles of wiring, air lines and plumbing to look after. By the way, we are heading to FL the first week in April, we will be in Orlando, and possibly might run down to Stuart to see family. I would be glad for you to take a look at my Bird if that works for you. Best Regards, Dave |

Scott, Thanks for your reply and invite to come see your 86FC35RB.
Any chance you could send interior pix and vital info either to forum or our email address? We are in FL only 5 years, just moved up from Ft Lauderdale, love Stuart. As former PA people we sailed the Chesapeake Bay for 20+ years, know Annapolis well. I, also, said we owned up to 34' but I meant 43' (senior moment). We are familar with the 42 Morgan. We plan to RV in summer (FL is excruciateingly hot in summer) and thru hurricane season then back to our home in FL. Once we start looking at the various sizes of BB's we can then determine better what size we will want. Once we have your info, we will make a decision whether to drive up your way to take a look. Thanks again, John --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Scott" wrote: > > John, SOOO you want to get into the RV lifestyle. Great choice.
