Alternators Rebuilt
My 94Pt has the same symptoms. center position reads but either side
has no reading. I have no idea if my alts put out other then I have
full 13+v on the 11 batteries when I stop. It would be a nice option
to have working proper.

Inverter camping this weekend in the desert, I noticed the leg one
and two volts and amp gauges have no reading at all????. Is it normal
for a 94'ishPt to have the inverter power not show up on the gauges?

I cannot see the fault light on the schematic. Is it on there? If not, do you
have any further details on this fault light, where it is located etc.

The delay is on the fault light. The switch worked, but one
alternator had no output, and that was apparently real. After replacing both
alternators with a pair that are identical models I have output in all three
switch positions, and the center position is roughly double what each is showing
separately.



I would not expect to get the fault light, but I haven't driven it long enough
since the alternators were installed to tell. The delay is roughly 30 minutes.

It is labeled "DS3" and is powered from relays K7 and/or K8. On my alternators
there are wires on each to one each of the 3 stator connections - those are
typically thought of as tach outputs, but I don't think the coach gets its tach
readings there, and they are apparently used to keep power to those relays (note
the diode on each). If either loses power, that side of the LED drops to ground
and it lights up.

Alternators Rebuilt
In my bus the leg voltage and the amp usage gauges work when the genset is
running or plugged to shore power. When dry camping on the inverter, the LED
bar graph (Trace Inverter) control panel shows amp usage. Over a period of time
I see the pilot dash battery volt gauge drop, at which time I start the genset
to recharge. Depending on equipment usage I can go 16-36 hours without starting
the genset. I have six 12v house batteries. When the shore power or genset
power is terminated the inverter automatically goes to inverter mode, unless I
shut it off. That is good because the reefer keeps cooling in case of a power
failure, assuming gas is available. My inverter does not supply 110v to the bay
outlets, so the outside entertainment system will only work with shore power or
the genset. Hope this helps. Yours may be different because it is a later
model.

Alternators Rebuilt
You won't see anything on the leg-1 or leg-2 gauge ,unless your
running the gen set or plugged in. You should have a excellent idea
of weather or not your alternators are working by just looking at the
engine battery and coach battery gauge's they should be reading about
14 volts. If you don't have a alternator on line they'll go down

Alternators Rebuilt
Nelson: I guess the only way to tell which alternator is actually
generating the most is to check the alternator 1---2 guage. It's my
own personal opinion that this is a worthless instrument. It's not
very reliable, causes lot's of confusion and just is not necessary.As
long as your getting good readings on your house and engine battery
voltage instrument your in good shape. I have always said that if you
want to know which alternator is putting out and how much, go to the
electrical bus on the rear firewall and check it out with a voltage
meter. Do we really drive down the road checking the #1 verses # 2
alternator meter(guage) no, I don't think so. We just look and see if
the batteries are being charged. It work's for me, No need to make
things too complicated. Good to see your post, wondering where you've
