1985 FC 35 Generator start up
Hi Mario,
Sounds like the Gremlins! It would be pretty easy to put a switch in the starter circuit to prevent this from happening- but if you really want to go down the rabbit hole, try checking both switches. My starting switch in the galley has a tendency to stick in the off or on position. It seems that the hole that the switch protrudes from is not big enough. I lubed it up with some silicone spray, but as a rule I don't use that one. As to the bendix spring- It may be broken and allowing the arm to move freely. There is a large spring that is about 1" wide and 2" tall compressed in there. Usually they do not break, but even when they do, enough spring is left to prevent the contacts from engaging. My money is on a broken switch.
