Generator, step, light switch questions.

May I suggest you remove the toggle switch by the door and see if you
have power to that switch? If you do then go down to the step switch
that is the one that looks like a button located on door frame. You
can
pull this out easily and check to see if you have power to that
switch and the
other side of that switch. On that last switch there should be a
wire
that runs down and under the step entrance. This wire connects to a
pressure sensing cable that looks like a heater strip. On mine the
strip was shot and was grounding the whole system out. You can
remove
this device or just remove the wire to that switch on the door. Try
that and see what happens. Just in case I didn't explain this good
enough just remember on that button switch should be one wire to and
two that lead away. One of those leads are for that pressure sensing
tape I told you about.
