best way to operate electric trailer brakes from BB pt-40

What type and make controller would be best to controll elec. brakes
on two axel trailer towed behind a pt-40?

I notice there are electric operated or air- elec. operated. What
would be the advantageof the air controled?

Also I see that Reese has an hand- remote control. Would this be good
or bad.

Is there any reason you could not power the controler from the gen.
set battery?
