best way to operate electric trailer brakes from BB pt-40
On some brake controllers the controller unit under the dash is a kinda
rheostat that uses inertia to regulate the braking force. these
controllers are enabled by the bus tail brake light throwing a switch
after the controller ( if you go down hill the controller feels
inertia and will signal trailer braking). I know of air over hydrolic
brakes for trailers which is like a surge unit on the trailer operated
by airpress from the tow veh. If there is a controller that uses air
press as a force regulater for trailers , oder me one.
In California you need a battery on the trailer for the brakeaway safty
brake system. E brakes on a trailer do not react well with antilock
tow brakes. I disable the antilock when towing with a pickup.
