83 FC - Is my engine 225 or 250 horse?
Read the valve cover tag. Arrangement number is everything on a Cat. If that
is missing you need to find the stamped numbers on the pump. That can be hard
to decipher but it is possible to learn the hp of the engine from that info. I
hope you have a valve cover tag.

My 83 was built in August of 82, so it would of had the 225hp cat
originally. I was told it has a rebuilt 250 hp cat in it when I got
it in 2004. Does anyone know how to tell which engine it is?
