Facet Fuel Pump
Well, with all this Facet talk, It is time I share my experience in
changing a leaky pump. It is in the rear, high on the front of the huge fuel tank, tight space, dark, very dirty and greasy, Mike H echoed in my head, "don't go under the bus, you could get Squished like a grape." I blocked the frame, lowered the jacks for some safety, used heavy duty jack stands for more security, blocked all wheels. Two screws, two wires, two copper pipe fittings. This is easy. Armed with Jeff Miller latex gloves , I changed that leaky old thing. Lesson learned: the fuel definitely siphons, It slides over those latex gloves, down your arms through your shirt sleeves, to your elbows. Second lesson: with 3/4 fuel, siphoning will also fill the Racor. Third lesson: Diesel fumes do not make the opposite sex horny. Bill 88 FC Smelling better the next day |
