Temperature sensor thread size

I fired up the bus today and the engine coolant temperature gauge went up to
240F almost immediately. I shut down the bus and found that the oil was still
cold as were the radiator and the hoses.

I tested the sensor wire from the gauge to the sender and seems to be ok. The
gauge seems to be alright so I think I will swap out the sender next, it was
also cool to the touch.

The gauge is a Teleflex unit and the senders seem to be available at most
marine supply stores; I just didn't check what pipe thread size it was. Any help
would be appreciated.
