RECOMMEND A CAMPGROUND IN RAPID CITY, SD
Hi Curt,

I've been riding since the 60's and I have no desire to go to
Sturgis, I'm just a few hours ride from Myrtle Beach and I don't
attend Bike Week there, but I enjoy the ride. When my buddies head
down to Bike week at Myrtle Beach in ten days, I just ride part of
the way down to Myrtle Beach with them, we stop and have lunch in
Georgetown, afterwords they go on to the beach and then I ride back
home. When they get ready to come back home, they call me when they
get ready to go eat breakfast and I head down toward the beach to
meet them in Georgetown for the ride back home, I find that more
enjoyable than riding in stop and go traffic at Bike Week.

I always wanted to ride through the Black Hills and the Badlands,
ever since I moved a lot of yachts, machinery and other oversized
loads through that area, now I have the time to do it. last year we
met up in Wisconsin for some riding with other friends and had a
great time.

The friends are from Rugby, ND, ironically they moved there from the
LA area about four years ago, they bought a farm up there.

I did some web searching last night and found quite a few places in
the Rapid City area that have RV sites available and the rates don't
change at most of them until August 1, some are 40 miles away from
Rapid City, but that the same as a ride from where I live just on the
east side of Columbia, SC to the other side of town, so that isn't
too bad. I will make some calls later today to see for sure that
their Internet reservation site is telling me the truth.

you are right about Glencoe, they are a little expensive and charge
the same for a overnight stay, or a two week stay, you pay the same
price $500.00 for 50 amp service, but it would be great if you were
going to the Sturgis rally, for two weeks, they offer a lot of extras.
