a/c hole size
My middle a/c is the only original I have left. Trying to keep the originallity
of mine, but I don't have a problem having a more efficient clean looking a/c !

I just got my bird a couple of months ago and have been changing anything
fluid and rubber. I've bought many filters and am still looking for the Bendix
replacement for the air compressor. I got tired and did not remove the pan on
the tranny, but it was totally replaced less than 12,000 miles ago. I placed a
fresh spin on and did a pan fluid flush. However, what came out looked brand
new.

I just got finished replacing the four front air springs. That job was the
pits! I have her jacked up to replace the rear four, now. I got her for $16,000,
so I figure I have some latitude to spend some big preventative maintenance
money on her.

I've asked the question about the high vacuum on my Racor. I've been told it
may be the Facet pump. I have some investigating to do there. I'll tackle that
after the air springs.

We are planning to long haul it to Minnesota this August. I want to make it a
successful trip, with NO hose breaks! I'm not sure what else to anticipate being
a problem, but this thing is built BEAUTIFULLY! I'll take all the luck and
prayers anyone will give me in making this first big trip successful. I have to
convince my wife that I made a good choice, LOL. Been looking for one for 5
years and I know I've done the right thing. She just kept looking at all box
junk on the market and could not understand my infatuation with the ol' bird. I
think she's coming around, however. She likes the attention it gets at the park!

I'll shut my wordy self down, but I wish you good luck and a cooler interior!

DRU- WHAT PERFECT TIMING TO ASK THAT QUESTION. I TO AM ABOUT TO REPLACE
MY MIDDLE A/C UNIT. IT BIT THE DUST ABOUT 6MONTHS AGO AND ITS UP NEXT
ON MY TO DO LIST. ITS ALSO THE ORIGINAL UNIT. WILL BE REPLACING IT WITH
A 15000 UNIT. WAS GOING TO THE LOCAL RV STORE TOMORROW TO START
RESEARCHING THE HOLE SIZE AND WHAT UNIT I WANTED TO INSTALL.
I JUST FINISHED SERVICING MY TRANMISSION. REPLACED FILTER AND CHANGED
THE FLUID. I ALSO DROPPED THE PAN JUST TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE
INSIDE THE ALLISON. IT HAS 21 CAP SCREWS THAT HOLD IT IN PLACE AND WAS
EASY TO REMOVE AND REPLACE. A NEAT THING I FOUND IN THE PAN WAS A
MAGNET ABOUT 2 INCHES IN DIA. IT IS GLUED TO THE PAN BOTTON SO IT CAN
NOT MOVE ABOUT. THE PAN WAS SUPER CLEAN AND JUST VERY LITTLE ON THE
MAGNET. SURE DID GIVE ME PEACE OF MIND TO SEE HOW NICE IT LOOKED INSIDE.
