You did say DIESEL!, right Mario? Ha Ha!
I don't have that problem but I can tell you where to look. You have a 12VDC that is developed for the genset either by a winding on the generator itself or with an external one that is driven by the genset motor. When you press the START button, a relay pulls in that applies battery voltage to the fuel pump. When the generator speed is adequate producing 12VDC and the button released, the generated 12VDC keeps the relay latched allowing the pump to continue supplying fuel. Check fuses, then the genset source of 12 VDC.
